School Counseling Services

The HMS School Counseling Department offers a full range of services.  Besides the short-term counseling of students based on their academic, career, and personal/social needs, the counselors will:

• Refer to private counseling and consult with outside agencies
• Facilitate groups on various topics
• Provide risk assessment evaluations
• Coordinate Students of the Month, and Merit Award programs
• Coordinate tutoring and refer to private tutoring
• Implement classroom lessons on Conflict Resolution
• Coordinate Home Instruction, and Orientation to Grade 5
• Coordinate scheduling of all students
• Coordinate high school scheduling for grade 8
• Participate on the Intervention & Referral Services Committee --- (I & RS)
• Orient new students to school
• Coordinate NJSLA testing
