5th Grade: ELA
What We Will Learn
In 5th grade English Language Arts (ELA), students will explore a variety of fiction genres, including humorous fiction, fantasy, realistic fiction, historical fiction, and folklore. Throughout the year, students will read and analyze texts while exploring themes such as strength and courage, working together, unity, and patterns. Students will also develop their writing skills through narrative, explanatory, informational, and opinion writing. As they move through each unit, students will practice using text evidence, developing their ideas, organizing their writing, and communicating their thoughts clearly and effectively.
