My name is Kristin Meister and this is my 17th year teaching Health and Physical Education. I spent 2 years of my career at Phillipsburg High School where I coached soccer, softball, and the school's step dance team. After that, I found an opportunity in Hackettstown and the rest is history! While in the district, I spent 4 years coaching the Varsity softball team and in 2014, I became part of the Middle School family. I currently help coach the HHS Unified Soccer team in the fall and run a workout program for teachers at HMS throughout the year.
I played college softball at TCNJ, where I was a 4-year starter in multiple positions, including third base, outfield and (my personal favorite) catcher.
In my spare time, I enjoy lifting weights, coaching, hiking and rock climbing, and playing softball. I've coached the Jersey Inferno softball team for 17 years where I've had the privilege of working with one high school All-American, 2 Collegiate All-Americans, and 2 NCAA National Champions at Alabama and Florida State. As an adult, I continue to play both slowpitch and modified fastpitch softball. I love dancing, being outdoors and rock climbing indoors. Obviously, like most of the students, I have a difficult time sitting still!
The thing I love most in the world is my dog Mickey Boy. He's perfect.
My passion is teaching kids life lessons through physical activity and sports. I believe that there is something for everyone in the world of lifetime wellness and fitness and I make it my top priority to help each student find something under the umbrella of lifetime physical activity that they can enjoy. I believe in sharing my enthusiasm for physical activity with students in a contagious way that draws them in and hooks them for the rest of their lives.
