About Me

This will be my first year teaching at Hackettstown Middle School; bringing with me a decade of teaching experience.  I have teaching experience at the elementary, middle and high school levels while having taught a plethora of curriculum in the social studies realm.  Additionally, I have international teaching and life experience that has helped to bolster my ability to be a great history teacher!  History has always been interesting to me because everything in this world has history and history is made everyday!  The study of history is a great avenue to learn life lessons and skills as well as knowledge about the past.  

 

My teaching philosophy is based on student-centered learning.  It is important for students to be well-rounded with not just knowledge on history, but with life and educational skills and techniques.  Students will be able to experience and learn about our world through the lens of history and our engaging classroom!  Instilling a belief in life-long learning is an ever present goal for myself and my students.  

 

I am excited to share in the experiences of the Hackettstown community with you!
